I have a lamp that my grandmother gave me one week before she died at the age of 92. It is the coolest lamp EVER. It is shaped like a silver globe and has strands of fiberoptic colored lights that come out of the top of it. They change colors. This lamp is from the sixties or seventies and was SOOO fascinating to me when I was a little girl. I always begged my grandmother to look at it. It touched me that the week before she passed away that she gave it to me. She remembered after all those years how much it mean to me. There is no one who would cherish it like I do. Whenever I am feeling down, turning that lamp on is very comforting to me. I imagine that the book Liesel stole makes her comforted somehow when she thinks of her mother and brother,
